Prospect Profile: Zac Dysert, QB, Miami (OH)
Posted on October 19, 2012 by NFLBLUEPRINT
Zac Dysert is setting himself up to be a big time sleeper in the 2013 NFL Draft. A four-year starter at Miami, Dysert has thrown for over 10,000 yards in his collegiate career. At 6¡¯4¡å 230 he has ideal size for the position and very good arm strength showing the ability to push the ball deep downfield with relative ease. Very quick release, compact throwing motion, throws with zip and good spin on the ball. Excellent accuracy rolling to both right and left, squares shoulders and finds targets. Locks in on primary reciever at times waiting for him to come out of his break, must improve in this area, often results in picks. Good deep ball with nice touch and arm stregth to put it deep downfield. Composed under pressure, extends the play by moving around in the pocket or running outside. Makes ¡°improv¡± plays (throws falling down, pitches) good and bad. Knows when to throw it away and live to play another down. Signature Game - Miami (OH) vs. Akron ¨C 516 yards passing with 6 TD and 108 yards rushing in the game. First ever player to throw for 500 and run for 100 in a single game. Our View - Dysert is by no means a finished product and must refine his game, but he possesses the toughness and competitive grit to develop into a solid backup with starter potential in the NFL.
