Why current Cowboys are no closer to a Super Bowl than team who blew NFC's No. 1 seed in 2016 Newy Scruggs Q - If the Rams win the Super Bowl, don't you think the Cowboys should feel like they are close to winning another Lombardi Trophy? The game in Los Angeles was competitive.Scruggs: Stop the madness. Jason Garrett was out-coached by Sean McVay and Wade Phillips. Cowboys fans like to spin things always with a favorable slant. After eight and half years under Jason Garrett they continue to be a club that falls short and he continues to get out-coached in the divisional round. I like to tell it like it is and the Rams offense is more creative and they put up points. The Cowboys don't score enough points. The crazy thing is how Jerry Jones sold folks on how good of an offensive mind Garrett is. I don't see it right now. Dallas is no closer to winning the Lombardi Trophy than they were after being 13-3 and blowing their shot as the No. 1 seed three years ago.Q - The NFC only scored 7 points at the Pro Bowl. Is that an indictment on the Cowboys coaching staff?Scruggs: Let's just say it's not exactly a ringing endorsement for Jason Garrett and his crew on offense. ................................................. Any questions ?
