When the Eagles traded with the Cleveland Browns to get the No. 2 pick in April's NFL Draft, many believed it was in an arms race with the Dallas Cowboys to land quarterback Carson Wentz.
Two games into his NFL career, Wentz is the talk of the NFL after becoming the first rookie in league history to win his first two career starts without throwing an interception.
Having lost out on the Wentz sweepstakes, the Cowboys stood pat at No. 4 and drafted Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott. They took Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott with the 135th overall pick in Round 4.
Prescott has been off to a slightly less auspicious start than Wentz, passing for 519 yards in his first two games.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked Tuesday about Wentz.
"I watched the game and he's impressive," Jones said on 105.3 FM The Fan in Dallas. "Really, for some real reason, he's doing a good job protecting the ball and they were impressive against the Bears. But that was a really good game to watch because we've got to play those guys twice and have to play Chicago next week.
"He certainly looked like the quarterback that we evaluated during the draft. We got to know him very well. Our staff did coach him at the Senior Bowl. That gave us a little bit of a heads-up. It is surprising, really, for him to come in and play at that level, but it is for any rookie, to protect the ball and play winning football."
Jones has said he believes Prescott was the best quarterback prospect at the Senior Bowl.

Jerry Jones says Dak Prescott was best QB at Senior Bowl..."and that included a guy named Wentz" ...
.........
Time will certainly tell which of these two rookie quarterbacks will go on to have the better career, but Jones will have a front row seat for the development of both within the NFC East.

Howie 'big balls' Roseman got the drop on jerrr , he probably had to swallow pretty damn hard after that statement , as to the senior bowl game comment...what else could he have possibility said
