Kevin Sherrington sportsday.dallasnews.comColumnist Kevin Sherrington answered questions in a live chat Wednesday. Here are some highlights.
Question: Jerry, GM For Life, has made some unusual personnel decisions in the past. I am ranking these starting with the 10th worst and going to the #1 worst or all time. Here we go. 10. Dragging out negotiations with Dez last year causing him to miss all the workouts. 9. Giving Roy (OU) Williams big money and getting nothing in return. 8. Drafting David LeFleur #1. 7. Giving up #2 draft choice in 2009 and getting two loads of coal in return. 6. Passing on Steven Jackson and taking Julius Jones. 5. Drafting Bobby Carpenter #1 4. Trading up to take Mo Clairborne. 3. Ol' Roy Williams trade from Detroit City. 2. Giving two #1s for Joey Galloway. 1. Passing on Randy Moss (thanks Chan Gailey). You got a better list?
Kevin Sherrington: Off the top of my head, that's as good of a list as any. When Jackson scored the other day, I mentioned to my youngest son that decision. Liked Jackson better at the time because Cowboys' OL was not so good. If your line can't block, you need a back who can break a few tackles. A couple of those decisions look worse in hindsight than they did at the time, so you have to cut him some slack. Just a little.
