The Cowboys didn’t allow a sack or a quarterback hurry Sunday against the Rams. The Cowboys had allowed seven sacks over their first two games.
But Smith had the most difficult task of them all Sunday, having to go up against St. Louis Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Quinn.
Smith was in Pro Bowl form against the Rams. He stymied Quinn all day. Quinn never pressured Romo and finished with only two tackles (one for loss).
The Cowboys also had success sticking with the run game despite the Rams stacking the line of scrimmage against them several times.
“We’ll battle through anything,” Smith said of the offensive line. “We just have to stick to the plan that we have and know that it will all work out in the end. We just have to have faith in our game plan. The more times we run the ball, the more confidence we’ll have.”
